Definition of a Security Incident
A security incident is any event that results in unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction of information or information assets. This can include, but is not limited to:
- Data breaches
- Unauthorized access to systems or data
- Loss or theft of devices containing company data
- Denial of Service (DoS) attacks
- Malware infections
- Insider threats
